PURPOSE:To improve the uniformization of luminance on a light transmission plate surface at the time of dimming by respectively connecting a thick film side electrode of a phosphor film to a low voltage side of a high frequency lighting circuit, and connecting the thin film side electrode to the high voltage side. CONSTITUTION:This device is constituted so that a cold cathode fluorescent lamp (fluorescent lamp) 12 with a slender and thin diameter shape is arranged on both end surfaces of the light transmission plate 2, and a high frequency lighting circuit 13 having a dimming function is connected to the lamp 12, and by switching over the fluorescent lamp 12 to a full light state and a dimming state, the brightness on a display surface is adjusted. The fluorescent lamp 12 arranged on both end surfaces of the light transmission plate 2 whose thick film side 12a and thin film side 12b of the phospher film formed on the inner surface of a glass valve are arranged so that their directions are confronted with each other, and the fluorescent lamp 12 whose thin film side 12b is connected to the high voltage side 13a of the high frequency lighting circuit 13, and the thick film side 12a is connected to the low voltage side 13b. Further, the high frequency lighting circuit 13 is arranged on the end surface side where the thin film side 12b of the fluorescent lamp 12 is arranged. |
