PURPOSE:To accurately display the current position of a driving vehicle on a road map on a display. CONSTITUTION:The output of current position detection means 1, 2, and 11 for detecting the current position of a vehicle and a specific position on a road are used as nodes, current position information is calculated by an operation processor 10 based on road map information read from a storage 3 where road map information in that a road is expressed by a segment connecting the nodes, and a correction is made to position the current position on the road and then the current position is displayed. The operation processor 10 for calculating the current position information corrects the display of the current position on the road between the nodes where the vehicle needs to drive when the current position on the display 4 appears outside the above road while the vehicle drives between the nodes on the road map. |
