PURPOSE: To provide a quaternary ammonium conjugant which is provided with a tertiary amine group or can be turned into a derivative possessing a tertiary amine group and is useful for an immuno assay, by which hapten in a test sample is detected and its quantity is measured, and for induction of an antibody by using a compound represented by a specific formula. CONSTITUTION: An immunogen conjugant is a quaternary ammonium compound represented by the formula. In the formula, Q<+> represents a cyclic or acrylic quaternary ammonium group constructed of a tertiary amine group existing in a hapten or its derivative, L represents a linker containing 0-20 carbon atoms containing a normal/branched chain arrangement and a cyclic structure and hetero atoms, which are 6 in number at most, and the number of the continuously connected hetero atoms is up to 2, -Z- represents a residue selected from the group consisting of -C=O-, -CH=, -N=N-, -NH-, -NHCH3 -, -NH-S=C-, -SO2 -, -O-C=O-, and -C=O-NH-NH2 , (x) represents an integer of 1 or more, M represents a carrier, and B<-> represents an ion.
