PURPOSE:To obtain an excellent reproduction image by realizing excellent binarizing processing even for an original in which the contrast of a character part is deteriorated such as an original with high background density or an original with high density. CONSTITUTION:The image processor having an averaging filter 301 averaging multi-value processing data and an MTF correction filter applying MTF correction to the multi-value processing data is provided with an LUT(lookup table) 303 storing reference data for density conversion, a threshold level calculation processing section 304 converting average data from the averaging filter 301 based on data of the LUT 303 and with a comparator 305 comparing data from the MTF filter 302 with data from the threshold level calculation processing section 304 to provide an output of the multi-value processing data. |
