PURPOSE: To generate a digital check image by mechanically scanning a document, such as the check, etc., at a high speed and stores the image in the preserving and storing area of a large-capacity storage device for future retrieval. CONSTITUTION: In order to discriminate a image or document having a doubtful quality, the image or document is automatically checked with a machine. Depending upon the checked results, the acceptance or refusal of the image or document is discriminated. Only acceptable documents are preserved. Accepted documents are formed in large data group containing storing position identifiers of each document in the large data group. An index for each data group containing the storing position of each document is stored in the large data group. A digital image is selectively transformed into a visual image and the visual image is checked by a human operator. By utilizing the checking by the operator, the acceptance/refusal deciding processing of the machine is adjusted. |
