PURPOSE:To effect sterilization of microbes adhered to the heat exchanger of an air-conditioning machine without necessitating any after-treatment by conducting high-temperature water to flow through the heat exchanger after finishing cooling operation. CONSTITUTION:Upon stopping cooling operation, a heater 23 for a high- temperature water tank 24 is excited previously and the water in the high- temperature water tank 24 is heated so as to have a temperature above 60 deg.C. Next, upon stopping the room cooling operation, a circulating fan 13 is stopped and the supply of cold water into a heat exchanger 12 is stopped while three- way changeover valves 20, 21 are switched and high-temperature water in the high-temperature water tank 24 is circulated through the heat exchanger 12 by a circulating pump 27. The high-temperature water is supplied to the heat exchanger 12 in such a way whereby microbes adhered to the heat exchanger 12 are sterilized by the heat of the high-temperature water. On the other hand, the high-temperature water heats the heat exchanger 12 from the inside thereof whereby after-treatment is never necessitated after the sterilization and the sterilizing treatment can be effected simply. |
