PURPOSE:To prevent disconnection and the like of a solenoid by controlling a solenoid driver to apply power required for driving at the time of starting and then apply lower power required for sustaining the driving state thereby decreasing the power as low as possible and suppressing the heating of solenoid. CONSTITUTION:A solenoid 11 is fed with a voltage required for a drive control circuit 20 to shift a document bail upward for a predetermined time after starting attraction thus shifting the document bail upward through a link mechanism as the attracting action of the solenoid 11 proceeds. Upon finishing the upward shift of the document bail, the drive control circuit 20 switches the applying voltage of the solenoid 11 to a burst wave turning ON/OFF at a predetermined period thus sustaining the document bail in the upwardly shifted state. Consequently, power consumption of the solenoid decreases below the power consumption during the attracting period of the solenoid 11. |
