The sliding shutter has two guide rails (3) which are parallel and run lengthwise. There are one or more slats (2) as wide as the distance between the rails. For each slat there are two series of guidance runners (1, 1, 1). The first runner is fixed to edge of the slat (2). On the outer edge of the runners there are lugs (16, 16) which fit inside the guidance rail (3). At the back of the guidance rails there is a storage unit (7) which holds the shutter (2) and the two series of runners, stored on top of each other. The shutter has a set of driving runners (1) which are attached to a cable, belt or a chain (52) which is driven by a motor (53) or a handle. The runners have lugs (10) with a pin (15) which fits in a hollowed out section (10) which has a groove on its side face. The rear (11) of the front runner (1) and the front (11) of the rear runner (1) are sloped so that the front runner (1) is superimposed on the rear runner (1) in the storage unit.
