<p>PURPOSE: To prevent convergence and to protect the resources of the whole network by classifying input cells by service characteristics and performing cell flow suppression such as temporary storage and discard according to the convergence state of network nodes. CONSTITUTION: An input cell classifying processing part 21 inspects the virtual connection identifier of a cell and sends it to a real-time processing type cell process part 22 or stand-by postprocessing type cell process part 23 according to which of a real-time process type for video, etc., and a stand-by postprocessing type. A network node state process part 20 recognizes whether the network node is normal or in a congestion state with node state information obtained from a user-network connection device. The real-time processing type cell processing part 22 inspects the loss priority information of an arrival cell in the convergence state and discard a cell with low priority. The stand-by postprocessing type cell process part 23 sends cells out in order through a cell temporary storage part 17 consisting of an FIFO, and stores the cells in the convergence state, but stops sending them out.</p> |
