PURPOSE:To provide a contour line for getting an ideal painted-out area accompanied by only a slight error when the inside of the contour line to be used for outline font or the like is painted out in the case of generating that contour line. CONSTITUTION:This device is composed of a major axis/minor axis deciding part 301 for deciding major axis coordinates, minor axis coordinates and major axis information, threshold value deciding part 302 for calculating and outputting a threshold value, error value arithmetic part 303 for calculating an error value and updating the error value corresponding to the level relation between the error value and the threshold value, level discriminating part 304 for discriminating and outputting the levels of the threshold value and the error value, code discriminating part 305 for discriminating and outputting a major axis code and a minor axis code from the major axis coordinates and the minor axis coordinates, adding/subtracting part (1) 306 for calculating the major axis coordinates by deciding addition/subtraction from the major axis code, and adding/subtracting part (2) 307 for calculating the minor axis coordinates while using level information from the level discriminating part by deciding addition/subtraction from the minor axis code. |
