PURPOSE:To support the safe operation of a vehicle by judging that the vehicle enters in opposite direction according to the entry direction of the vehicle and one-way data and giving a warning when detecting the opposite entry. CONSTITUTION:A display part and an operation part 14 with the warning alarm 14, a digital map data part 13 consisting of a recording medium such as CD- ROM, and a vehicle sensor 11 and a navigation controller 12 consisting of an azimuth sensor and a vehicle sensor are connected to a communication bus 10. First, by operation the switch at the display part 14, map data containing one-way information and driving distance/direction are read from a map data part 13 and the sensor 11, respectively, and the current position of the vehicle is displayed on the map as a marker. Then, the controller 12 reads data regarding a crossing, if the current position of the vehicle is located within a certain distance from the crossing, and the controller calculates an angle Q formed between the opposite direction of a one-way road and the advance direction of the vehicle if a one-way road exists, and gives a warning, based on a judgement that it is an entrance in an opposite direction, when the angle Q is within a certain distance. |
