PURPOSE:To detect properly production of a lightening surge and to record a waveform of the lightening surge on the occurrence of the lightening surge with respect to a power feeder to an optical submarine repeater in the optical submarine cable communication system and the power feeder locating a cause to a signal error when the signal error takes place due to the cause of a surge intrusion to a supplied circuit. CONSTITUTION:The system where an electric signal of plural data lines or the like is multiplexed and converted into an optical signal and sent through an optical submarine cable and a submarine repeater and a constant current is supplied to the submarine repeater through the optical submarine cable is provided with a surge detection section 5, an alarm processing section 6 and a surge waveform recording section 7. The surge detection section 5 detects a current of a feeding path as a voltage and the alarm processing section 6 sends an alarm signal when the voltage is at the outside of a prescribed range, the surge waveform recording section 2 stores and holds the voltage for a prescribed time and provides an output of the stored data when the recording section 7 receives the alarm signal. |
