Stopper for sparkling wines

The stopper has a sleeve (2) made from compressed cork and a disc (3) of natural cork. The grain is arranged in a perpendicular direction and adheres to one end of the sleeve. The disc is orientated with respect to the sleeve so that its outer face or crust is in contact with the sleeve, and its outer face is in contact with the wine. The disc is cut from a sheet of cork taken from a strip arranged so that the inner face is the innermost section of the strip and the outer face is the crust or outside of the strip.
