PURPOSE: To provide a luminance multiplying tube indicating intensified sensitivity with respect to conversion of an incident radiation. CONSTITUTION: For increasing sensitivity of a luminance multiplying tube, efficiency of an electronic image formed on the basis of radiation on the first wavelength is increased. The radiation of the first wavelength is converted into the radiation of the second wavelength by means of a conversion screen 3 arranged in a scintillation layer 22, and the radiation of the second wavelength emits an electron from a photocathode, responding to the second wavelength. A loss, which is caused because this radiation part does not reach the photocathode, in the radiation of the second wavelength is reduced. The radiation of the second wavelength, which is not emitted in the direction of the photocathode, is caught again when a metallic reflection intermediate layer 21 is arranged in the conversion screen 3.
