ROLL FLAW DETECTION METHOD

PURPOSE:To reduce no good rolled material and shorten the line stop time by finding on-line and in a short time flaws generated during rolling 9 in a roller. CONSTITUTION:For a detection method of roll flaw in a roller provided with sensors 7a to 7f for detecting the profile of a work roll 1, the echoes of roll surface wave are continuously detected by continuously scanning the sensors 7a to 7f in the axial direction of the work roll l. Based on the echoes of the roll surface wave continuously detected, the roll surface shape is obtained and by analyzing the roll surface shape, flaws on the roll surface are detected.
