PURPOSE:To prevent the overheat of a fixing unit in the aging mode by controlling the temperature of the fixing unit based on the second temperature target lower than the first temperature target. CONSTITUTION:The normal mode is selected by a selector 16, and the temperature target data Dref1 of the normal mode is read out from a ROM 14. When the temperature target value Aref1 corresponding to the data Dref1 is inputted to a comparator 20, a fixing unit 77 is automatically controlled to the temperature corresponding to the temperature target value Aref1. The aging mode is selected by the selector 16, the no-paper state is detected by an empty mode 79, the temperature target data Dref2 of the no-paper empty mode is read out from the ROM 14, then the temperature target value Aref2 corresponding to the data Dref2 is inputted to the comparator 20. The fixing unit 77 is automatically controlled to the temperature corresponding to the temperature target value Aref2 (temperature lower than Aref1). |
