PURPOSE:To prevent the reduction of brightness, and to provide a specific set illuminance. CONSTITUTION:A notch 12 is provided to the side wall 6c of a flat lamp house 6 having an upper side opening, and the bulb wall surface of a fluorescent lamp 2 whose both ends 2b and 2b are set out of the lamp house 6 is inserted into the notch 12, the middle part of the fluorescent lamp 2 is housed in the lamp house 6, and the fluorescent lamp 2 is connected to a high-frequency lighting circuit 14 of 15kHz or higher. In this back light unit 18, the bulb wall surface at the end 2b side of the fluorescent lamp 2 connected to the high voltage side of the lighting circuit 14 is inserted into the notch 12 through an insulating member 19. |
