PURPOSE:To obtain a battery, which has high workability and improves long term reliability and safety, by forming a crack in the surface of a compound positive electrode, a compound negative electrode, which are formed of an electrochemical active material and an ion conductive high molecular compound, or an alkaline metal negative electrode and/or inside of an electrode. CONSTITUTION:A compound positive electrode 2 and a compound negative electrode 4 are coated by roll coating with an applicator roll or the like, doctor blade method, spin coating, and a means such as a bar coder, and thereafter, they are forcedly dried by far infrared heating, induction heating and hot air heating or the like. A crack such as hair crack, shallow crack and deep crack is thereby generated in the surface or the inside of the positive electrode 2 and the negative electrode 4. Intruding speed of the ion conductive high molecular compound composition liquid into the positive electrode 2 and the negative electrode 4 is therefor speeded up to simplify the manufacturing process, and soiling of the sealer 6 and collectors 1, 5 with the composition liquid is eliminated. |
