PURPOSE:To obtain a camera focused at a focusing position previously responding to a selected photographing mode when the photographing mode is selected by driving a lens to a previously decided lens position based on given driving information when the selection of the photographing mode is received. CONSTITUTION:A camera main body 1 is provided with a release button 2, a switching member 3 receiving the set of the photographing mode, a finder eyepiece window 6, an information set dial 8 and an external display unit 9 displaying the various kinds of set information set to the camera. When the selection of the photographing mode is received by the switching member 3, the positional information of the lens corresponding to the selected photographing mode is read out from a storage means. Then, the driving information based on the positional information of the lens is given to a lens driving means. By the lens driving means, the lens is driven to the previously decided lens position based on the given driving information. Therefore, a photographer can select the photographing mode while confirming an object. |
