The clamp includes the sprung strip (6) which may be fixed in a channel (43) in the block (7) or alternatively the two components may be a single piece. The block has a hole for a fixing screw and the strip extends to meet it at a semi-circular cut. The action of screwing down the block tilts it about a recessed edge. An electrical insulator (4) with good thermal conductivity separates the component (1) from the chassis (3). A line of contiguous such clamps may form a single bar with independently clamped springs. An alternative design uses a sprung washer directly screwed onto the component from a rigid L-shaped support.
