A watercraft (30) has floats (31, 32) supporting a bicycle-type frame (59), having handlebars (92) connected to a rudder (93) to steer the watercraft. A chain and sprocket foot operated drive (98) is connected to a shaft (112) journaled to a housing (109) accommodating a power transmission (113, 114, 116, 117) for rotating a propeller (108). The housing (109) is movable between a down location, wherein the chain (106) is retained in a tension condition to an up location, wherein the chain (106) is in a loose condition.
