A double balloon dilatation catheter assembly comprises an elongate catheter body (102) terminating at two opposing distal ends (104a, 104b). Each distal end (104a, 104b) comprises one dilatation balloon (106a, 106b) provided thereon for dilating a stenosis. The catheter body (102) further comprises a central portion (108) which communicates with two separate delivery passages. Each delivery passage operates to deliver inflation media from an inflation port (110a, 110b) located in the catheter body central portion (108) to a dilatation balloon (106a, 106b) to inflate the balloon. A connector (116) may be slidably positioned along the catheter body central portion (108) for allowing the delivery of inflation media from an external source through the inflation ports (110a, 110b) and to the dilatation balloons (106a, 106b).
