The rotating sliding switch, particularly a fan switch in a vehicle, has a switch axis with locking recesses. The axis is arranged inside a housing (1) so as to be rotatable and also to be axially movable. The locking recesses (18) cooperate with locking elements (19) which are spring biased and guided within the housing (1). The switch also has a rotating switch member (10) and a sliding switch member (9). These are each actuated by the switch axis (18) and strike terminal contacts (14). The sliding switch member (19) is held in the rotating switch member (10) and is spring biased there. It has a freely movable end (11) which acts on a switch part (12) which is arranged underneath the rotating which member (10).
