The liquid crystal display device comprises; at least one substrate; a plurality of first electrodes disposed in a predetermined pattern on the substrate and defining multiple pixel areas; a protective layer overlaying the plurality of first electrodes; a plurality of second electrodes disposed in a predetermined pattern opposite the plurality of first electrodes; a liquid crystal layer disposed between the plurality of second electrodes and the protective layer; one or more insulation layers provided in the liquid crystal layer, and partitioning the liquid crystal layer into multiple liquid crystal layers, each respective liquid crystal layer similarly transmitting light in response to an electrical field; and, columns placed in areas other than the defined pixel areas, and fixing the location of the one or more insulaion layers in the liquid crystal layer.
