MOBILE RADIO COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

In a mobile radio communication system for radio communication between a base station (BS) and mobile stations (MSs) by a code division multiple access method, multiple slots T1-T4 for forward link from the station (BS) to the mobile stations (MS) and multiple slots R1-R4 for reverse link from the mobile stations (MS) to the base station (BS) are provided on a first radio frequency f2 in a time division multiplex way. The slots correspond to the distances from the station (BS) to the mobile stations (MS), and the sending power at the slots also correspond the distances. Namely, the sending power at a short-distance slot is low and that at a long-distance slot is high. Each mobile station (MS) measures the intensity of electric field of the received pilot/sync signals arriving from the station (BS) of a second radio frequency f1 and informs the station (BS) of the measured intensity. The station (BS) measures the distance from the base station (BS) to the mobile station (MS) based on the intensity of electric field sent from the station (MS) and selects a slot pair corresponding to the distance from among the slot pairs T1/R1 to T4/R4 and assigns the selected slot pair to the station (MS).
