Freezing compartment opening device for horizontal plate freezer

The opening device (5) is height-adjustable, and is arranged to fit on the freezer opening frame (1,2) at either side of the particular section of the freezer compartment stack which is required to be opened. The position of the frame is adjusted in front of the freezer, and can be modified for use with any freezer of the horizontal plate type. The opening device includes expansion elements which are moved into the space between a pair of freezer plates (3) by means of a hydraulic compression unit and a horizontal guide rail (15). Coupling devices convert horizontal to vertical movement to open out the required individual freezer compartment.
