The coin dispenser consists of a coin hopper (10) controlling the coin count, with a store (14) for coins, a dispenser unit (16) for coin output, a transport mechanism (12) moving coins from the store (14) to the dispensers (16), a control unit for the transport mechanism and an optoelectronic coin detector (30). The coin sensor/detector is positioned by the output mechanism (16) where the light source and detector are energised by a pulse stream.
