Countercurrent tunnel dryer for ceramic mouldings

A tunnel dryer for drying ceramic mouldings has a tunnel (1) with a series of spaced air blast stations, each of which is supplied with drying air at one end and has a stationary nozzle box (2) for directing air jets down onto the mouldings. Each nozzle box (2) is preceded (in the transport direction, T) by an air suction device (3) which is located in the tunnel roof region and which forms a recirculation circuit with the succeeding nozzle box (2). A mixing chamber (4), for each circuit, directly adjoins the tunnel (1) and mixes air from the suction device (3) and from a hot air supply line (5) to form the drying air for supply to the nozzle box (2). The air suction device is pref. a suction box (3) having a downwardly sloping face (3a) opposing the longitudinal flow (L) in the tunnel (1). This sloping face (3a) is pref. located opposite a transverse suction slit (3b) which directs air into the adjacent mixing chamber (4).
