Test module for monitoring motor vehicle performance

A test module for the comprehensive monitoring of motor vehicle performance is constructed as an integrated unit with the object of minimising the time spent in cabling-up and adapting the several independent functional units customarily employed in testing a particular vehicle. The module comprises a common mains input (8,9) and several actuator operated test functions (2) subject to a performance regulator (3) which is in turn subject to a controller (4). The controller (4) incorporates a microprocessor (10) and associated memories (11) which collectively determine test programmes based on stored data. Sensor (5) responses are routed to an evaluation unit (6) and remote access is via a standard serial connector (7).
