A digital switch is provided with a matrix switcher section (11) to which serial digital video signals are inputted through input buses, a control section (12) which controls the operation of the section (11), signal processing sections (13A, 13B...) connected to the output buses of the section (11), and input detector (14) which is connected to one of the output buses of the section (11), and error detector (15) which is connected to the one output bus of the section (11). By controlling the section (11) by means of the control section (12), the detectors (14 and 15) selectively detect the inputs and errors in the digital video signals.
