The lamp has a lamp housing (1) and a lamp socket (2) to receive a light source (3), particularly a compact illuminating material lamp. The housing (1) has a rear housing section (4) which reflects the light, and side walls (5). The socket (2) is arranged on one of the side walls (5) of the housing (1). The socket (2) is fastened to a base plate (7). The plate (7) can be pivoted to the light outlet opening of the lamp. Thus, if the lamp needs to be replaced, the plate (7) is pivoted until the light source (3) is accessible through the outlet opening.
