METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR RECOVERY OF OVERLAPPED DATABASE THROUGH SIMULTANEOUS RENEWAL AND DUPLICATION PROCEDURE

PURPOSE: To continuously use a faulty database by coupling the copying operation required for re-configuring the database with data base transaction operation which occurs during the restoration. CONSTITUTION: An interface converting/coupling circuit 34 is connected to two external library groups for performing database processing service. When a library manager 12 or 14 is active at arbitrary specific time, a dual database system 10 processes and stores all database transactions made from one side through a link 41 to the other side. The system 10 maintains one database in each of the two library managers 12 and 14 having the same entry so as to give duplicativity to the managers 12 and 14 for giving fault resistances to the managers. Therefore, the system 10 can continue operations by using a remaining database when one database becomes faulty.
