摘要 PURPOSE:To prevent mismachining, by setting a motion inhibiting region in a machine tool by a program independently of the machining program while supervising whether or not a detected position is located in the inhibiting region with a correction considering the size of a tool and its mounting direction and interrupting work when the position of the machine tool is placed in the inhibiting region. CONSTITUTION:A motion inhibiting region of a lathe 1 is set by a program independently of the machining program. And the lathe 1, which supervises whether or not a position, detected by a detector, is located in the inhibiting region applying a correction, considering the size of a machining tool 13 and its mounting direction, to the coordinates of the lathe 1, interupts work by feeding a stop instruction to an NC unit 2 of the lathe 1 when its position is placed in the inhibiting region. In this way, since the lathe 1, to which a value of an edge point R of the tool 13 and its direction are given as data, obtains points on the circumference of the edge point R checking whether or not these points are placed in the machining inhibiting region on condition the same to the actual condition, mismachining due to misoperation and misprograming can be prevented by inhibiting the edge point from being placed in the inhibiting region.
