PURPOSE:To make it possible to eliminate the possibility of exposure to radiactivity and to dismantle a shielding body of a reactor in a short time by a method wherein a plurality of guide tubes are buried beforehand in the shielding wall of a shielding body accommodating a core, in a state wherein both ends thereof communicate with the outside, and the shielding body is cut by inserting a wire saw into the guide tubes. CONSTITUTION:A wire saw 3 is inserted through a vertical tube 2b through a ring tube 2a from the upper end of the tube buried in a shielding wall 1a. It is laid over to a driving source and both end parts thereof are welded under pressure. With the wire saw 3 rotated at a high speed, the shielding wall 1a is cut thereby along a guide tube 2, cutting is repeated continuously, and the shielding wall 1a of an accommodating part 1b, which is contaminated with radioactivity, is cut in the circumferential direction. After the wall is cut in the circumferential direction, it is cut in the direction of diameter and then cut into pieces in the shape of blocks and dismantled by another dismantling device. According to this method, the possibility of exposure to radioactivity can be eliminated and dismantling can be performed in a short time. |
