<p>The load consists of a metallic cabinet (P), open at front and rear, and has six insulating bars (B1-B6) which suspend resistance elements (R). Each resistance element is made from expanded metal, with a non-expanded section drilled to receive the suspending bars (B1-B6). The resistance elements (R) are connected in series and at various junctions, capacitors (Cn) and series heat dissipating units are installed to shunt to the metallic cabinet. The capacitors together with the associated parasitic capacitance provide overall frequency compensation. The resistors may be cooled by a separate ventilator housed in a contiguous cabinet. <IMAGE></p> |
