There is disclosed a luminaire comprising a body (4), a lamp (8) carried on the body (4), a reflector (10) located to reflect light emitted by the lamp (8), a light controller (12) arranged to act upon light emitted by the lamp (8), and a cover (6) disposed to enclose the lamp (8), the reflector (10), and the light controller (12). The cover (6) is at least partially transparent to allow light to be emitted from the luminaire. By covering the light controller (12), rather than making it part of the cover (6), it need not meet the structural requirements of the cover (6) so enabling simpler manufacture and allowing use of a single cover (6) in a wide variety of illumination requirements. <IMAGE> |
