A teether 10 comprises a teething element (11) movably mounted on a grip portion 12. The grip portion 12 includes a transparent tubular member and elements 21 which may be coloured balls movably disposed in the tubular member and capable of making a sound in order to attract the attention of a baby. There may be several teething elements mounted on the grip portion and may be mounted so that they can move relative to it.
