The mat film for a dry electronic copying is produced by (a) coating a mat layer forming soln. on the surface of the biaxially drawn polyethylene terephthalate film as a film substrate, and drying it to form a mat layer, and (b) coating a surface treating soln. on the mat layer, and drying it. The mat forming soln. is composed of 25-30 wt. pts. carboxylate acryl copolymer, 10-20 wt. pts. particle of 1-6 micrometer particle dia. i.e. silica, calcium carbonate, kaoline, alumina or clay, 0.1-1.0 wt. pts. particle of 2-12 micrometer particle dia. i.e. polyethylene, polypropylene or nitriding cotton, 0.01-0.3 wt. pts. surfactant, 50-100 wt. pts. methylethyl ketone, 50-100 wt. pts. ethyl cellosolve, and solvent. The surface treating soln. is composed of 1-5 wt. pts. water-soluble acryl resin, treating soln. is composed of 1-5 wt. pts. water-soluble acryl resin, 0.1-1.0 wt. pt. antistatic agent, 30-70 wt. pts. water, 80-150 wt. pts. methylethyl ketone, and solvent.
