PURPOSE:To prevent an information storing card from being forged by using a hologram having a reflecting direction characteristic for reflecting illumination light to plural directions at prescribed rates as a reflecting face part. CONSTITUTION:A card 1 inserted into a card reader/writer is carried, illumination light is projected from a light emitting element 5 to a hologram part 4 and its reflected light is received by a light receiving element 6. Output voltages, i.e., the distribution of light receiving intensity, outputted from respective parts of the element 6 are compared with the distribution of output voltages outputted from respective parts at the time of irradiating the hologram part 4 of a normal card 1 stored in a storage part with illumination light, and when both the distribution states coincide with each other, an identification unit 7 identifies the card 1 as a normal card. Consequently information storing cards such as a magnetic card and an optical card can be prevented from being forged. |
