Extension for finger and toe nails

In a finger or foot nail elongation method, involving mounting a mould on the nail, applying layers of a hardenable resin to the nail and the mould to form an artificial extension and, after hardening, removing the mould, the novelty is that at least one layer is applied by means of a profiled pattern. Also claimed is an appts. for carrying out the above method, the mould pref. being made of 'Teflon' (RTM) or polyethylene and the pattern pref. being made of a flexible material, esp. silicon rubber. Pref. a release layer pref. of silicone oil, is applied to the mould and hardening of the resin layers is carried out by UV irradiation.
