The filler (2), feeds material through a filler opening (3) onto the screw (4). This, at least in the region of this opening (3), has spiral threads (41,42,43,44,45) of a pitch which increases, in discrete steps of continuously, in the extrusion direction (5). The supply in the region of the opening is adjustable, and enters via the funnel (21), down the outlet section (22) and through the outlet opening (23). The supply may be adjusted within the filling opening (3) along the screw's varying pitches.
