Synthesis gas preparation by partial oxidation-steam reforming

Synthesis gas is produced by reacting a hydrocarbon feed, oxygen, steam, and optionally carbon dioxide, in a fluidised solids-containing reactor. A defined portion of the total required oxygen is premixed with at least the major portion of the feed before entering the reactor. The remainder of the oxygen and any remaining feed are each fed separately into the reactor.
