The possibility of indirect flash, reflected from a white ceiling, in suitable conditions is introduced by the incorporation of a double flash tube with automatic control and an appropriately modified reflector. One of the tubes radiates conventionally in the forward direction, and the flash from the other tube is angled upwards. Alternatively a single tube may be moved between two positions by a servomotor. A preliminary flash can ascertain whether the environment and the film sensitivity are suitable for indirect flash exposure.
