<p>The present invention relates to artificial tanning compositions having improved stability. These compositions comprise dihydroxyacetone, a salt selected from the group consisting of metabisulfite salts, sulfite salts, hydrogen sulfite salts, and mixtures thereof. These compositions are useful for imparting an artificial tan to human skin. In further embodiments, these compositions also comprise a sunscreen agent and are also useful for providing protection from the harmful effects of ultraviolet radiation.</p> |
