<p>A data recording apparatus for writing or reading digital data in or from a recording medium, such as a tape or disk driven by a drive mechanism, which can be applied to the recording of data for a computer, the collection of data obtained from laboratory apparatuses and the recording of various kinds of observation data. In order to carry out the writing or reading of data while controlling the driving and stopping of a recording medium by a drive mechanism, buffer memory is provided to compensate for the difference in data transfer rate between the recording apparatus and data input/output devices so that the data transfer to and from the recording apparatus may be controlled on the basis of a speed at which data are transferred to the buffer memory.</p> |
