Determination of wear in pump

There is a first temperature sensor in the inlet pipe to generate a temperature reference and a second sensor in the pump outlet pipe. The two sensor signals are differenced and when the difference exceeds a certain threshold, an error signal is generated. The threshold is a function of the ambient temperature, measured by a third sensor. The rate of change of the difference signal is also found, and a second error signal is generated when this rate of change signal exceeds a certain threshold.
