The device allows vapour to be aspirated via a vapour conduit leading from a vapour producer to a mouthpiece. It comprises an intermediate conduit section (1) in the vapour conduit, whose wall is provided with a first row of holes (7). On the conduit section a slide (8) covering the first row of holes is longitudinally displaceable. The slide has a second row of holes (9) which dependent upon the slide position can be located over the holes of the first row in the conduit section. The conduit section is a rod-shaped part which has a through passage channel (2) issuing on its face surfaces (3,4), and on its outside has a longitudinal groove, in which the slide is guided.
