A shop or exhibition fitting and more specifically, though not exclusively, a shelf system for the exhibition of radio and TV sets or other electrical devices which are desired to be exhibited in operation. The system comprises a number of shelf carrier posts (2), a number of transverse carrier beams (12) for mounting between neighbouring posts (2) in engagement with side holes thereof, and a number of wall panel elements (10) having suspension means (16) for carrying engagement with said carrier beams (12). Said wall panel elements (10) having height dimensions measured such that they are mountable in suspended positions with their lower edges located approximately in or only slightly above the top side plane of respective underlying shelves (8). At the rear of a given shelf there will be an open slot (20) between the top edge of the underlying panel element and the bottom edge of the overlying panel element, and cables can be drawn through said slot so as to be hidden therebehind.
