Resetting method for electrically erasable and programmable read-only memory element

The resetting method uses a resetting signal (rs) for resetting the memory element (EFM) during a programming or erasure cycle, initiated by the processor (MP), coupled to the memory element via the processor bus (PB) and brought into a given output condition in response to the resetting signal. The memory element is supplied with a sequence of addressing commands (BA1,..BA4), held in a temporary memory (SP1,..SP4) which is read out by the resetting signal, for controlling the memory element access cycle, with the subsequent processor access delayed until the resetting process for the memory elements is completed.
