<p>A friction material for use in a liquid medium, consisting of a fibre mat impregnated with a heat-setting resin, wherein the fibres are at least 12 mm long. A method for making said material comprises the steps of (a) mixing one or more kinds of fibres in a mixer; (b) carding the mixture to form a card web; (c) lapping the card web; (d) needling the resulting lap; and (e) impregnating the needled mat with a heat-setting resin.</p> |
